This morning I attended a class offered by my local gym HIIT (high intensity interval training).
Boy was it a doozie. Today was total tabbata…I guess that’s spelled right.
I’m not sure if that’s the usual format of the class but it began with high knees then jumping jacks, then burpees and down hill from there. The 20 second high intensity-10 sec rest format showed me three things:
1.)20 seconds is a long dang time
2.)10 seconds is not nearly enough time to recuperate after kicking your butt for 20 seconds
3.)angry donkey kicks (who knew such an exercise even existed) are evil!!
Great workout…going to have to make the evening class a regular part of my week…
It is 4:06am and the boy is up…not only is he up but he’s asking for bfast…and not only bfast but a specific order from McDonald’s. Maybe I’m dreaming or something…cuz this can’t be life on my Friday off work!!! #fatherhood
I took my first spin class in like 4 or 5 months & I swear the seat had its unholy way with me!
The workout was great and in addition to the one I did earlier is helping me get my workout mojo back…but I’m sure ill feel it for a few days to come.
Eating has been ok. Chips are still the devil & my nemesis. Oh & that heffa lil Debbie & her Christmas tree cakes!!! If I see her on the streets, it’s on!
All in all, things are good. Slowly comin outta my post cruise/thanksgiving food haze and pedaling head first into the new year…fresh goals, renewed determination and vigor!!!
This is exactly what I needed today…after a hiatus from eating right & working out. Feeling kinda blah abt the tiny backslide, but tis life.
I’m a big fan of second chances, and 100th chances and even 1000th second chances.
